Lovely LGBTQ+ Tattoos Created During Pride Month 2023
Since 1969, the month of June has been at the center of the LGBTQ+ community and its continuous fight for equal rights in society. On June 28th of that year, the Gay Liberation Movement blossomed into the ultimate fight to let people love who they want, and be who they want to be - through the Stonewall Riots in New York City. Lasting for five whole days, queer people fought against the constant discrimination they were facing from others and the police force to enact change for their community. This historic moment paved the way for Gay Pride Day, which took place on June 28th each year after to memorialize the events of the Stonewall Riots and protest for LGBTQ+ rights in America and beyond.
As years progressed, Gay Pride Day grew to encompass the entire month of June, filled with celebration, remembrance, and acknowledgement for the LGBTQ+ community. Globally, LGBTQ+ people and allies unite for parades, marches, memorials, and fundraising events to continue fighting for a better tomorrow for the community!
